Sinterklaasje

This, dear dudes, is the reason I will go to hell, should such a plane exist.

So this is a feminine version of Sinterklaas, or Saint Nicholas, a christian patron, and dutch figure of abuse by commercy and candy makers.

Each year at the fifth of december, we celebrate his birthday/passing day by lying to the children and saying Sinterklaas was responsible for the gifts they find in a jute bag at the door.

The good man comes always somewhere around november, and it is customary for children to place their shoes at the fireplace, or more common, at the back door. In it they place a carrot for the greedy horse of Sinterklaas, and the next morning they'll find sweets in their shoes, like chocolate letters, marsipan, or tiny half-orbs of speculaas.

Anyway, enough about the holiday itself. I drew this because I didn't feel like commemorating some silly American Turkey-eating feast, so I resorted to a much better holiday from my own country, and gave it the santa girl treatment.
